
I am aware of natural herbs and have attended various presentations and incorporate herbs, roots, leaves mainly for teas and cooking into my wellbeing lifestyle. The motherland has provided us with natural remedies so I love to learn as part of my holistic health journey.

Sage Remedies is a natural health store in La, Accra, Ghana and is owned by Aretha A. Owusu, a practicing herbalist and holistic health educator.
Workshop – Aretha guided us through an educational workshop on hormonal balance explaining the importance to ensure vital organs work effectively. Thus using African plant based healing and traditional medicine as appose to Eurocentric methods. The workshop focused on wellness through herbs, roots, spices, plants, oils, teas, tinctures and organic products.
Tea – Before the workshop started we were given Peace tea to drink, which was a concoction of – motherwort, rose petal, nettle, hawthorn leaf/flowers/berries.
Attending herbal workshop offers hands-on learning about medicinal plants and their safe uses.
Herbs from the forest. We explored herbs fresh from the forest, their many benefits and how to prepare for holistic health and various ailments.
African Basil relieves fever, headaches, intestinal parasites, reduce high blood pressure, wound healing, skin care and respiratory health.
Jatropha plant- fibroids, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, wound healing, skin issues and infections.
Ageratum plant – aka billygoat weed. Wound healing, antiseptic, digestive health, anti-inflammatory.
Sweet Broom – anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory, digestive health, antimicrobial properties, commonly used to treat wounds and malaria.
Learning – Participants gain practical skills, deepened their connection with nature, and learnt natural ways to support everyday wellness. The Workshop provided inspiration, expert guidance, and a chance to connect with like-minded people who share an interest in herbal and wellbeing living.
Herb Sample Kit contained Soursap Leaf, Nettle, dandelion leaf, Guava leaf, Corn Silk, Hibiscus, Mahogony, Nyangyang, prekese and notebook and pen.
This workshop was a meaningful experience and a great taster workshop for anyone curious about natural remedies
