Blogging has taken new heights as a social media marketing tool for businesses to attract new customers. I remember when I started blogging many moons ago using a plain template – just for fun and to document personal events.
I attended the Bloggers Summit 2022 in Ghana which was an educational event meet digital influential, bloggers and journalists in order to grow brand – whether as a passion or a business tool.

The 4th annual edition of the Ghana Bloggers Summit convened by leading PR and Rating firm – Avance Media, took place at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly conference hall on Saturday 24th September, 2022. Under the theme for 2022: ‘The Future of New Media’, which was presented by guest speakers and panel discussions.

Panel Discussions
There were 2 panel discussions consisting of journalists, media influencers and bloggers – were I noted a few tips: –

 *Brand Awareness: Build your brand,
*Go for the news, don’t wait for the news
*Speak language of your audience
*Create a trend
*Purpose of blog – is it relevant
*Engage with people off line outside social media space
*Enrol in workshops, zoom, twitter space

(Panel 1 – Now and future of blogging: Sista Ginna, Jibriel Jagbesie, Sellas Manna, Clement Yeboah)

(Panel 2 – Harnessing social media as a platform and strategy to boost your brand: Entamoty, Edward Asare, Kaly Jay, Sneaker Nyame)

Influential Blogger
I attended the event with a young student – who after a few hours listening to the speakers now wants to become a blogger. In attendance was Kobby Kyie ( Youth blogger of the year 2021 – YEA) who presented ‘Building a Blog into a Media Company’. So I asked him – “What area should she consider blogging?” and Kobby advice was to blog about facilities and creative spaces for young people.

Blogging
Bloggers use online platforms/website as a diary to record personal stories via a website. Some blog about a targeted area – eg food blogger, travel blogger, entertainment blogger. Blogging is a great initiative to use as a social media tool to market business and services that captivate the audience, whereby further interaction can be made via conversation threads and feedback. Nowadays newcomers commencing a blog page are spoilt for choice from numerous templates and widgets to customized their pages to look professional.

I shall continue as a pleasure blogger but I’m also thinking whether I should also target a specific area in regard to promoting Ghana culture.
which continues to be in line with my blog page: Back to Our Roots
