About Kente Cloth: Ghana’s most popular, colourful and traditional cloth, the Kente cloth made in a small village in the Ashanti Region. The cloth is woven into individual narrow strips (called ntomaban or bankuo) that is about 3-5 inches wide and about 5-6 feet long made at the Bonwire Kente Weaving Centre. Several vibrant strips are sewn together to make a wider piece of cloth which are sewn at the front of the bags.
