I was very impressed with the inviting artwork from ceiling to floor, representing Jamaica with a dash of Ghana – of course. Music, ambiance, pattie, food and juice. What more could I ask for to satisfy my appetite after stepping foot into Breakilicious Jamaican Restaurant.
Breakilicious was established 2017 in UK and 2019 in Ghana – to offer a true taste of the Caribbean whilst also providing exquisite vegan menu options. Offering a large selection of delicious local and continental meals prepared by internationally acclaimed Chefs and served by a team of courteous and delightful staff fully trained and willing to carry out the passion of “Serving humanity”. Experience fresh, delicious, and premium-quality food with unique Caribbean flavor dished out in an atmosphere of love, and soulful entertainment. Dine-in or Order online delicious meals to enjoy a great taste of original Caribbean dishes.” – Laila Hunt.
Whilst waiting for my meal I chopped down a delicious vegan Pattie and learnt me some patois.
So, where shall I sit – Ghana or Jamaica. I sat on the Ghana side of course – well that’s where the seats where available. It is clear that the Laila and her twin sister have really invested and envisaged Ghanaian and Jamaican roots in to all aspects of their brand. Oooh! did you know she is also a DJ. So you can book food and DJ services for your functions.
Did you know that every meal sold a percentage goes to their TwinTings Charity towards building a retreat for the orphans and street children in Ghana.
Not wanting to be too craving I had a seasoned meal of rice and peas – a JA staple, accompanied with fish, curry veg, plantain and salad.
Laila is introducing a variety of Jamaican with Ghanaian favourite foods to your plate. Recently Waakye and Wings, Jollof and Jerk was born.
The first time I visited the restaurant, Leila was very busy in the Kitchen. So, I did not get to gist with her. So what a nice gesture when I was invited to for breakfast, chill and chat. We discussed about our Ghanaian interests, life and investment. Leila expresses that her heart and soul is in Ghana, pleasing the customers and raising funds for charity.
Do not take my word for it, make your way to Breakilicious if you are in Ghana, Accra, but if not put it on your places to chop when you come. Located at Spintex Okpoi Gonno Taxi rank, Accra.
